Calm Kids™ Workshop Curriculum
Calm Kids™ Workshop for Parents & Students (2-3 hours)
70%
of homes, even among church-going families, are now considered
“explosive households” characterized by strife, yelling and
debilitating stress. Parents spend less than three minutes each day
having conversations with their kids. The yelling begins with the
morning rush, resumes during the nightly war over homework and
culminates at bedtime. This is no way to live.
Kids control the
home through their tantrums and defiance. We must take back control,
but in order to do so we must first be in control of ourselves as
parents. Come discover two dozen practical strategies to calm your home,
enjoy stress-free discipline and homework time, and help your kids
become more responsible. Perfect for parents of children from 2-42!
The following is a sample announcement commonly used for Calm Kids Workshops at schools, churches, synagogues, Moms and MOPS groups, and community organizations. Contact us and we’ll schedule a Workshop in your town.
Creating a Stress-Free Home & School
Hannaford Elementary School
Wednesday, September 24 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Do you need help calming your explosive household? Tired of yelling at, negotiating with and bribing your child? Do you want your child to take responsibility for his homework, morning routine and chores?
Join us for a humorous, practical workshop with best-selling author and nationally-recognized expert Kirk Martin, who has trained over 45,000 parents and teachers. Celebrate Calm specializes in working with intense children, including families affected by AD/HD, Anxiety, Sensory issues, Aspergers, Autism, ODD and OCD.
Martin will provide practical strategies to:
• Create a Stress-Free home—eliminate yelling, arguing and power struggles (even with teens).
• Channel disrespect and defiance into problem solving.
• Help improve focus, attention and behavior in school.
• Relieve anxiety and sensory issues.
• Help students develop vision, internal motivation and responsibility.
• Create stress-free discipline and homework time.
• Get your kids off their video games without saying a word.
Martin will explain why your kids are bossy, anxious, and easily overwhelmed; sabotage friendships, demand fairness and say, “I’m bored”; like to argue, fidget, make noises or chew; have difficulty writing, sleeping and maintaining eye contact. Medication, nutrition and handling siblings will be addressed as well.
Students are encouraged to attend. Kirk can challenge and encourage your children in ways that you can’t! This is very powerful.
The Workshop is FREE to the community. Teachers, parents, students, grandparents and all caregivers are encouraged to attend.
